The Gen Z Gamechangers…
As Gen Z enters the workforce and will outnumber baby boomers in the next few years, I’ve seen a lot of Reels/Tik Toks make fun of our tech savvy, conversation-avoidant, slay-ing counterparts that never knew the pain of dial up internet or the joy of picking a DVD at the video rental shop.
But there are some Gen Z lessons to be learned and I can see how they are already driving some amazing workplace changes that employers didn’t necessarily want or expect. It’s time to embrace transparency! Two shifts I have noticed are:
1. Salary transparency: Gen Z values upfront compensation information. Advertise your salary ranges in job ads! It’s now proven to increase your job application volume.
2. Vulnerability at work: Gen Z are authentic and honest, and while I have seen this one go both ways, it’s driving an overall shift for what research tells us can be a game changer for an engaged culture.
What are your thoughts on transparency at work? And some revolutionary new Gen Z email signatures?
