Let’s talk networking

Having time to make connections during work hours has been fun for me these past few weeks, but it can feel like a chore, especially for my introverted friends.

But what if we reframed it to simply being about connection?

Connecting with colleagues, peers or even clients, is the first step to building a meaningful relationship.

These relationships are gold in a work context, making everything smoother, from delivering tough news to just collaborating day to day on projects.

Here’s how I’ve shifted my networking mindset:

Start with good questions: Ask questions about the person you’ve just met, that you’re genuinely interested in hearing the answer to.

Be a giver, not a taker: Offer your own expertise or connections and try to help.

Learn about them as a person: People connect with people, not professional goals.
