PRODUCTIVITY HACKS!

I love hearing “how” people do their work. I am fascinated by people who can stick to the pomodoro method, or who bio hack their bodies to get things done before 8am. 

Some of my personal favourite hacks:

1.     Embrace your chronotype –  Find out when you are most alert (research your chronotype with the many available online quizzes) and schedule your most demanding tasks for your peak productivity hours.

2.     The two minute method – If you have a kind of crappy task, but it’s a quick one, set a timer to complete it in two minutes. This is a great one to kick start your day.

3.     Music – Research suggests classical and jazz music can enhance mood and focus.

4.     Phone focus – If you have an iPhone, you can set a special focus mode that allows for example, phone calls, but otherwise won’t notify you for texts, Instagram DMs, you name it. My favourite part of this is that you can set it to start at location, or for certain time windows.

5.     Reward yourself – Complete a chapter, a report, a big email? Celebrate with a coffee break or a walk.  I have been known to use jellybeans.
