The Gen Z Shift: Is Your Workplace Ready?
Take your ankle socks elsewhere, Millennials. Gen Z is entering the workforce in full force. As someone who's worked with multi-generational teams, I can tell you that understanding Gen Z isn't just trendy - it's crucial for your business success. Anecdotally, some of you may have seen some of the changes they bring, but here’s some Gen Z workplace trends that are shaking things up:
Mental Health Focus: Only 23% of Gen Z say they are comfortable talking about mental health at work to their managers (compared to 38% of Millennials), but 94% of Gen Z identify with symptoms of burnout, anxiety or depression - Mind Share Partners 2023 Mental Health at Work Report
Salary Transparency: 81% of Gen Z workers would change jobs to work for employers with better pay transparency (wow!) – Visier Research
Sustainability: 64% of Gen Z believe technology will play a role against climate change (and will prioritise sustainable organisations in their job search) - Dell Technologies report
Is your workplace addressing Gen Z’s priorities? If not, you might be missing out on top talent.
I've been working recently with clients to bridge the generational gap and create cultures that attract and retain Gen Z talent.
If you want to know how you can create the workplace for future generations, let’s talk.
